One thing people often say about me,after getting to know me is, “Terrell, you’re so down to earth.” And honestly, I take that as one of the biggest compliments anyone can give. In a world where so many are chasing perfection, appearances, and validation, I’ve learned that being real — truly real — is what keeps me grounded and connected to others.
Life has humbled me in more ways than one. Growing up in Louisville, Kentucky, as the oldest of six children, I learned early that life isn’t about what you have — it’s about who you are and how you treat people. Those humble beginnings taught me to be grateful for every blessing and to find joy even in the small things.
Now, as a wife and mom of three boys, one of whom has Down syndrome, life continues to remind me daily what really matters. It’s not the titles, the image, or the applause — it’s the love, the laughter, and the lessons along the way. My family keeps me grounded. They remind me that at the end of the day, I’m just me — a woman trying to do her best, love hard, and walk in purpose.
Being down to earth doesn’t mean I don’t dream big or set goals. It means I stay authentic no matter what room I walk into. It means I talk to everyone with the same kindness and respect — whether it’s a client in my chair, a student in my class, or a stranger at the grocery store. It means I don’t need to prove who I am; my energy speaks for itself.
I think being down to earth also means being comfortable in your own skin — flaws, growth, and all. I’ve had my share of struggles, lessons, and hard days, but those experiences shaped me into the woman I am today. They taught me empathy, patience, and strength.
As a creative and beauty professional, I meet women from all walks of life — and the truth is, we all crave the same thing: to be seen, understood, and loved for who we truly are. That’s why I lead with realness. I want people to feel safe to be themselves around me, without judgment or pretense.
I’m not perfect — and I don’t try to be. I’m just Terrell. A woman who loves God, her family, and the simple joys in life. A woman who believes that success means staying humble, grateful, and true to who you are.
Being down to earth isn’t about playing small — it’s about standing tall in your truth while keeping both feet on the ground. And if my story reminds anyone of that, then I’m doing exactly what I’m meant to do.
To every woman reading this: stay grounded, stay grateful, and stay you. The world needs more women who are real, kind, and unafraid to walk in their truth. You don’t have to have it all together — you just have to keep showing up as yourself.
Because being down to earth isn’t about being ordinary — it’s about being authentically extraordinary.
