Pausing For Now

Pausing RN School to Get Caught Up….. But I’ll Be Back

Sometimes chasing your dreams requires you to keep going, and sometimes it requires you to have enough wisdom to pause.

Making the decision to pause RN school after this semester was not easy for me. I’ve worked hard, sacrificed, studied when I was tired, pushed through moments of doubt, and continued showing up because becoming a nurse is a goal I truly want for myself.Right now, I also have to be realistic about life and financial responsibilities. Originally my husband was working on his military benefits and once he received his 100%,we just assumed it would cover my tuition. His disability wasnt the category that covered our college tuition ,so it really was upsetting but I started paying out of pocket. Thats what I do …. Solution Driving Baddie.

Sometimes you just have to Pause in life.

I need some time to get caught up financially, handle my responsibilities, and put myself back in a position where I can focus on school without constantly worrying about payments. As hard as that decision feels, I’m learning that pausing a goal is not the same as giving up on it.

Sometimes we put so much pressure on ourselves to finish everything according to a certain timeline. We think if we stop, slow down, or change the plan, somehow we have failed. Life doesn’t always move according to the schedule we created in our heads.

My dream is still my dream.

I’m still going to become an RN.NP.DON

I’m simply giving myself permission to take care of what needs my attention right now so that when I return, I can come back stronger, more prepared, and able to give school the focus it deserves.

This journey has already taught me so much about myself. I’ve learned that strength isn’t always about pushing until you have nothing left. Sometimes strength is being able to say, “I need a moment to get things in order, but I’m not done.”

I am definitely not done.

After this semester, I’m pressing pause, not stop. I’m going to work on getting caught up, creating more stability, and preparing myself for the next chapter of this journey.

There is no shame in taking care of your life while pursuing your dreams. There is no expiration date on becoming who you were meant to become. Your journey may take a little longer than you expected, but that doesn’t make the destination any less meaningful.

So, RN school, this isn’t goodbye.

It’s simply: I’ll be back.

Sometimes you have to pause the goal so you can put yourself in a better position to finish it. When I return, I’ll return knowing that I didn’t quit when life became difficult—I adjusted the plan and kept the dream alive.

The goal hasn’t changed. Only the timeline has. ❤️

Dear Sons,

Pauses in life will happen. There will be moments when everything you planned doesn’t happen when you expected it to. You may have to put a dream on hold, change directions, start over, or simply sit still for a season. When those moments come, don’t let the pause consume you.

I want you to understand that slowing down does not mean you have failed. Taking a break does not mean you have given up. Sometimes life requires us to handle what is in front of us before we can continue chasing what is ahead of us.

I’m learning this lesson myself. There are goals I want badly, but I also understand that sometimes I have to pause, regroup, take care of responsibilities, and then come back stronger. I never want you to believe that your worth is determined by how quickly you accomplish something.

Life is not a race, its your marathon.

Some seasons will be about winning. Some will be about learning. Some will be about rebuilding. Some seasons will simply require patience.

Whatever season you find yourself in, never lose yourself because life didn’t go according to plan.

Keep believing. Keep preparing. Keep your dreams close to your heart. Give yourself grace when things take longer than expected.

Most importantly, remember that a pause is just that,a pause. It is not the end of your story.

As your Momma, I want you to see through my life that you can change the timeline without changing the goal. You can take a moment to get yourself together and still come back determined to finish what you started.

So when life tells you, “Not right now,” don’t hear, “Never.”

Rest if you need to. Regroup if you have to. Redirect when necessary.

But don’t give up on yourself.

Love You Real Bad,
Momma ❤️
